Business meals

Concept

When an employee represents the company, he or she is often required to take business meals with clients or suppliers of the employer. These complacency meals are essentially for the benefit of the employer.

Expenses and working hours

When the employer asks the employee to go to a business meal or when the employee does so spontaneously, it is in the company's interest. However, the employee is not technically working...

Does the employer have to pay the employee's meal expenses? Does the business meal count as working time? Does the employee have to be paid or is it a break, just like the lunch break? What about the travel time to the restaurant?
